Homeschool Curriculum

- Choose curriculum for each subject:
- Math
- Reading/language arts/writing
- Vocabulary/spelling
- Social Studies/History
- Science
- Bible (optional)
- Health
- Music (optional – many parents opt to put their child in music lessons)
- Art (also optional, although many children love completing art projects!)
Preparing to Homeschool:
- Complete all state requirements. (View state requirements)
- Purchase Curriculum
- Join HSLDA
- Join a local homeschool support group
- Obtain other necessary school materials
- Notebooks/notebook paper
- Pencils, art supplies
- Erasers
- Ruler/math manipulatives
- Any additional books for a library
- Dictionary
Choose Extra Curricular Activities:
While not a requirement, many parents opt to enroll their children in extra-curricular activities such as sports, music lessons, gymnastics, dance, 4-H Club, boy scouts, etc. High school students may also be interested in enrolling in one or two community college classes as well.
Once you’re ready, it’s time to begin! Remember to make the most of every learning opportunity and have fun!
