Field Trips for Homeschoolers
Taking fieldtrips as a homeschool family has its ups and downs. Finding a homeschool group is one of the best ways to make fieldtrips simple.
Looking for ideas for homeschool fieldtrips?
- Check out a local art museum
- Visit local historical landmarks
- Find out if local businesses do tours. For example: tour a sugar mill, visit a bottling plant, tour a newspaper printer
- Visit a local science center
- Go to the local park
- Find a farm or similar place that does school tours – they will most likely be willing to set up something for homeschool groups or include a homeschool family in a tour.
- Contact a local author and ask for a special presentation for a group of homeschool children
- Attend a musical symphony orchestra
- Gather a group of homeschool students at one family’s house to make cookies or other similar activity
