Magic Pictures

Children love making these magic pictures! You will need: A variety of shapes including circles, squares and triangles tagboard white paper crayons construction paper How to make Magic Pictures: First, use the shapes to cut out templates in the tagboard. Any shape will work, so allow the children to come up with some special shapes to cut out. Next, remove the crayon paper from the crayons. Place each shape under the white paper, and rub the side of the crayons on top of the paper. Watch while shapes beneath appear on top. Trim the white paper so that the shapes take up most of the remaining space and mount the pictures on the construction paper. How to Make Color Bursts

This craft is a great way to teach children about how colors combine. You will need: Food coloring (4 colors) Muffin tin round coffee filters string small clothespins Steps to Make Color Bursts Take the muffin tin and mix food coloring and water in each of the four corners. These will be the dipping areas. Add as much or little food coloring to the water to make it as dark as you wish. Take a coffee filter and open it out flat. It now needs to be folded in half approximately 3 times. Now there are three points on the folded filter. Quickly dip each corner into a different color food color solution. Thanksgiving Craft

Make a thankful turkey this thanksgiving with your homeschool children. Required materials: small paper milk carton, brown paper, construction paper of various colors, Step one: Rinse out a milk carton, cut open so that it is open on top and cover the outside with brown paper. Step two: trace each child’s hand on the various pieces of construction paper and cut out each tracing for the tail feathers. The more “hands” the larger and more colorful the tail fathers will appear. Step three: Use the brown paper and cut out a head and beak to add to the front of the turkey. Step four: label the turkey body with “my thankful box” or “what I’m thankful for” or “we are thankful” whatever you wish.
